Computer 2000 names division president

15 August 2007 — Basingstoke (UK): Computer 2000 has appointed David Watts to the newly created position of director of Datech 2000.

He rejoins the company after an absence of almost two years, having left to join Samsung, where he was displays and audio visual general manager for the UK and Ireland.

Andy Gass, managing director, said: "We are delighted to have David back on the team and taking up this important new role in our business. Computer 2000 is very much a collection of specialists, backed by the most efficient and effective back-room engine in the industry and Datech 2000 is one of the most important focused business units. Over the past two years, we have seen significant growth in this part of our business. We are now aiming to capitalise on that growth and take Datech 2000 to new heights."

Watts said: "I’m thrilled to have been given such an excellent and exciting opportunity. Datech 2000 is already the biggest autodesk distributor in the UK and has the potential to deliver a great deal more to VARs focused on the CAD, engineering, architecture and high-end graphics and visual arts markets. I’m really looking forward to playing a central role in shaping the future strategy and direction of the business and taking into the next stage of its development."
