China: expo attention on stationery growth

21 February 2005 – Beijing (CHN): Rapid growth in demand for international brands and products in China is fuelling interest in Stationery Expo China 2005.

Stationery and office product sales in large department stores in China reached $1.7 billion from January to May 2004, a 3.8 per cent increase over the same period a year earlier, according to China’s National Commercial Information Center.

Furthermore, government purchasing has evolved into a commercial business practice, with purchasing plans for the education system increasing by 50 per cent a year.

Stationery Expo China, which will be held on 26-28 September 2005, is expected to attract some 400 exhibitors and 14,000 visitors.
