Changes to Rubbermaid board

30 January 2007 — Atlanta (GA): Michael Todman, president of Whirlpool International, has joined Newell Rubbermaid’s board of directors.

Todman has been with Whirlpool for 14 years and is said to have significantly expanded Whirlpool’s sales, marketing and manufacturing locations in Europe.

William Marohn, chairman of the Rubbermaid board, said: "With our strategic emphasis on evolving into a marketing-driven organisation with a larger worldwide sales footprint, Michael Todman is the right person at the right time to join our board."

Mark Ketchum, president and CEO, said: "Michael’s distinguished international credentials, as well as extensive sales and marketing leadership experience, make him an ideal addition to the board as we continue building Brands That Matter in the US and globally."

It has also been announced that Allan Newell, a director of the board since 1982, has elected to retire and will not seek renomination when his term expires later this year.

Marohn said: "Allan served on our board during one of the most important early growth phases of the company. We thank him for his 25 years of counsel and offer him our best wishes."
