7 December 2006 — Moscow (RUS): Sergey Tarasov has replaced Christophe Chastan as general manager of Dell’s Russian operations.
In his first press conference yesterday, Tarasov announced that the company’s Russian operations have become a separate region within EMEA, rather than continuing to be under the jurisdiction of the European Distribution Business Department.
Tarasov said that Dell is optimistic about the Russian computer market on the back of fast sales growth. Over the last three years, the PC maker’s Russian sales have been growing at an annual rate of 66 percent.
