Canon predicts record profit; names new president

30 January 2006 – Tokyo (JPN): Canon has announced that strong sales of digital cameras and printers could give it a seventh year of record profit in 2006.

The company has forecast a 2006 net profit rise of 8 per cent to ¥415 billion ($3.54 billion).

 

Canon also appointed its former head of digital camera operations, Tsuneji Uchida, as president, taking over from Fujio Mitarai who stays on as chairman.
