BPIF to provide BOSS services

23 February 2007 — High Wycombe (UK): The BOSS Federation and the BPIF (British Printing Industries Federation) have signed a contract that will see BPIF managing BOSS member services.

BPIF is a business support organisation for the UK print, printed packaging and graphic communication industry and one of the UK’s leading trade associations.

From 1 July 2007, existing BOSS members will continue to receive their services as standard but will also have access to extra services from BPIF at no additional cost until 1 January 2008.

The structure of BOSS membership will change to incorporate three membership levels: BOSS Platinum, BOSS Gold and BOSS Silver.

Paying BOSS members and dealer groups will automatically receive BOSS Gold membership, which will entitle them to the standard BOSS benefits plus additional services offered by BPIF. Services include on-site support for human resources and online support for environmental issues.

Dealer group members will receive BOSS Silver benefits, which include telephone advice, updates on employment law and health and safety.

From next January, changes to member subscriptions will be subject to approval by the BOSS executive board.

According to BOSS, by working together, both organisations will be able to achieve economies of scale, reducing overall costs.

BOSS will continue to be an independent trade association and retain its existing assets, freehold property and its own separate BOSS Benevolent Fund.

BPIF will be accountable to the BOSS executive board and so assuming there will be no deterioration in the quality of services provided to BOSS members, the deal should further strengthen the position of BOSS within the OP industry.
