19 October 2004 – Boise (ID): Boise Cascade, which operates OfficeMax stores, has posted higher than expected Q3 profit, thanks to strong product prices and the sale of some of Idaho timberlands.
The company recorded net income of $61.1 million, or EPS of $0.63, up from $32.9 million, or EPS of $0.48, the same period last year.
Sales for the quarter increased 73% to $3.65 billion, compared with $2.11 billion in the same period last year.
Analysts had expected the company to earn a profit of $0.59 per share.
