Bic to cash in on Harry Potter

Bic has launched a range of Harry Potter pens to capitalise on the Harry Potter excitement generated by the sixth book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and the expected furore when the next film in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is released in November.

 

Emma Lawley, category marketing manager for Bic Stationery, said: "This enormous awareness combined with the fact that the UK represents the largest market for licensed products in Europe, offers retailers genuine sales opportunities.

 

"The non-food UK licence market is worth approximately £2 billion ($3.6 billion) and we are confident that the Bic Harry Potter pens will add to this by supporting retailers during the traditional peak stationery selling time of back-to-school and Christmas."
