Best Buy speeds up China expansion

21 June 2007 — Shanghai (CHN): Best Buy has announced plans to speed up its Chinese expansion plans by opening as many as ten stores in China over the next 18 months.

Robert Willett, chief executive of Best Buy International, said: "We have more opportunity and freedom to speed up the process."

Earlier this week OPI reported that the company had signed a new supplier agreement with China 3C Group, a retailer and distributor of business and consumer products. The China based company will supply Best Buy stores for a 12-month period.
