12 May 2006 – Shanghai (CHN): Best Buy is to buy a majority stake in Chinese appliance retailer Jiangsu Five Star Appliance for $180 million, giving it a foothold in a market dominated by local players.
The transaction will give Best Buy control of the Chinese company’s 136 outlets.
