Battery recall approaches seven million

 

2 October 2006 — Tokyo (JPN): The number of Sony-made lithium-ion laptop batteries being replaced now stands at approximately seven million.

 

Toshiba and Fujitsu are the latest PC makers to become involved in the recall.

 

Toshiba has recalled over 800,000 batteries while Fujitsu has not disclosed an amount.

 

Dell has been most affected having recalled another 100,000 batteries, taking its total number of recalls to 4.2 million.
