Avery consolidation creates 70 new jobs

30 January 2007 — Memphis (TN): Avery Dennison is consolidating its distribution centre in Memphis, Tennessee with its Meridian manufacturing plant.

A 70,000 sq ft extension is to be added to the Meridian site over the next six to nine months.

The extension is expected to create 70 new jobs. Employees from the Memphis distribution centre will be able to apply for jobs at the enlarged Meridian site.

It is understood that Avery was able to take advantage of Gulf Opportunity Zone federal incentives, which encourage developers to build in areas damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
