Asda to create 2,250 jobs

12 July 2005 – London (UK): Asda, the UK retail chain owned by Wal-Mart, has announced that it will create 2,250 jobs by restructuring the company. Each of its stores is expected to recruit an extra eight members of staff.

Earlier this month, the company announced plans to cut 200 management jobs and up to 1,200 store positions in response to market-share losses to Tesco.
