Antalis reports solid 2005

10 April 2006 – Paris (FRA): Antalis has reported a positive set of 2005 results, despite slow volume growth and downward pressure on prices, with revenue increasing 0.3 per cent to €2.34 billion ($2.84 billion).

The slight increase was partly down to the paper distributor’s stronger position in high-potential markets and fast-growing geographical areas.

The company, which also pursued a cost-reduction programme in logistics and sales, posted operating EBIT of €53 million, up 27.4 per cent from €41.6 million last year.

With the market in western Europe not showing any real signs of recovery, Antalis said it plans to increase profitability by relying on its partnerships with strategic suppliers; pursuing the optimisation of its logistics organisation and customer segmentation; and expanding into high potential markets.
