24 July 2006 — London (UK): Anglo American has received and rejected two bids for its paper and packaging division Mondi, according to reports.
The company, which is increasing its focus on mining operations, is said to have received bids from two private equity consortiums, according to London’s Sunday Times.
One consortium included Blackstone, Carlyle and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. The other consortium is said to have included Texas Pacific Group and Bain Capital.
Mondi is a global, integrated paper and packaging group, principally involved in the manufacture of business and packaging paper and converted packaging.
