Kimball International has named Jeff Fenwick as VP/general manager of its Kimball Office business. Fenwick, who was previously VP of marketing at Kimball Office, will assume responsibility for the entire Kimball Office organisation and the achievement of Kimball Office’s business goals. Best Buy has named Neville Roberts as chief information officer of Best Buy International, the business unit focused on the company’s growth outside of the US. One of his primary initial goals will be to create an eCommerce platform to support the company’s international growth. Best Buy is currently planning to expand into the Mexican and Turkish markets. Staples has appointed Mark Mettler as senior VP of merchandising for its consumer technology and seasonal products. Mettler joins the merchandising team in a new role, with the goal of creating innovative and differentiated product assortments in the consumer technology and seasonal office supply categories. Mettler joins Staples from department store company Sears where he spent 15 years in various merchandising roles. Framingham (MA)

Electronics products and accessories wholesaler DBL Distributing has named Tim Coakley as its new senior VP of merchandising and purchasing. Coakley will be responsible for leading DBL’s marketing, merchandising and purchasing initiatives. He will also oversee the maintenance and development of relationships among DBL’s 450-plus manufacturing partners. Scottsdale (AZ)

David Martin, director of dealer group Integra’s Ireland operations, is to leave the company after acquiring Northern Ireland dealer Denis Smyth Office Products and Business Furniture. Martin will continue to act as an independent consultant to Integra over the coming months. Newport (UK)

Spicers has appointed Jeanette Bresitz as its new head of UK merchandising following Colin Learmouth’s switch to the European purchasing team at the beginning of January. Bresitz has been working as a Spicers’ merchandising manager for the last three years. She has also worked for Viking/Office Depot. Sawston (UK)

Toner cartridge and solid ink sticks manufacturer Media Sciences International (MSI) has named Richard Betts as European sales director for its office products channel. Betts joins MSI from Esselte UK, where he was senior accounts manager responsible for contract stationery partners. In his new position at MSI, he will be responsible for the management of OP channel sales across pan-European companies. Gatwick (UK)

Canon Europe has named Ryoichi Bamba as the new head of its European operations. Canon veteran Bamba moves from Canon USA, where he was general manager of the company’s imaging systems group. His former position at Canon USA has been filled by Tamotsu "Ted" Nakamura, who moves from Canon Canada. Amsterdam (NL)

German manufacturer of office and presentation equipment and accessories Maul has announced that Hans Waldmüller has joined as new head of sales for the Austrian market. Waldmüller, who has over 35 years’ experience in the office products sector, joins Maul from Acco. He will report directly to head of German sales, Klaus Johansson. Bad König (GER)

Bi-silque sales director Paul Hardy is leaving the company to join cleaning and hygiene products manufacturer Systemcare. Hardy will take up his new role as business development director at the beginning of May. Birmingham (UK)
Alan Barclay has been named as the new chairman of Matini Acquisitions 1, the holding company of Kingfield Heath, ISA and Supplies Team. Barclay’s position as managing director of the combined Kingfield ISA wholesale business will be filled by Andy Spence, the current managing director of sales of the wholesale business. Both men will work closely together over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth handover. Sheffield (UK)

Liz Wilks has recently taken up a new position as marketing manager for corporate sustainability and CRM at European paper merchant Antalis. In her new role, she will also continue to have marketing responsibilities for office supplies and envelopes. Judith Davis meanwhile, who joined Antalis through its acquisition of the Map Merchant Group in October 2007, has been appointed deputy marketing director with overall responsibility for the marketing of office papers at group level. Katun‘s Christophe Capony is to take the general manager’s role at the company’s key German and Austrian subsidiaries. Capony will also continue as general manager for Benelux, France, Scandinavia and Switzerland. Gorinchem (NL)

Hitoshi Nagai has been appointed senior general manager of the international operations division of Japanese stationery manufacturer Plus Corporation. He took over from Gavin McCole who left last autumn. Tokyo (JAP)

Australian newsagent marketing group newsXpress has named Jeff Walsh to the position of stationery category manager. Walsh will help store managers to plan their stationery assortments and develop their brand strategies. Brisbane (AUS)
