17 July 2007 — Wijchen (NL): Alpha International, the European distributor of electronic office supplies, has increased the size of its distribution centre in Wijchen by 50 percent.

The extension of the centre, which has created a 15,000 m² space, has boosted picking capacity from 5,000 to 10,000 order lines a day. The company claims that the buffer area for goods inwards and outwards has also been doubled, which it says will raise the quality of its delivery services.

Harald Nuij, marketing and communication manager, said: "This increase in capacity will help us to meet our growth targets as we move forward. We’ve used our logistics expertise to refine and optimise our processes even further and this will ensure that our customers continue to enjoy the quality and reliability they have come to expect from Alpha International."
