Following on from an opi.net announcement on 26 October regarding the departures of Martin Smith and Colin Fern from the Office Choice board, COO John Reid of Allintos, formerly WCP Group Services, released a statement detailing Smith’s resignation.
"After many years in the office products industry, and having spent the last 18 months establishing Allintos, Martin Smith has decided that it is time to pursue other interests. He has therefore tended his resignation with immediate effect," the statement read.
"Martin was widely-known and highly-respected by employees, suppliers and customers. He worked tirelessly with the best interests of independent dealers at heart and I know that you will join me in thanking him for his efforts over the years and wish him well in whatever new projects he chooses to take on."
The management team will continue to run the business while the board looks for Smith’s replacement.
Also confirmed was Colin Fern’s departure as chairman of Allintos, following his resignation as a director at Office Choice. A replacement director at Office Choice is being sought before the Allintos board next meet, the statement added.
