14 February 2006 – Lincolnshire (IL): Acco Brands has posted a drop in Q4 profit while sales jumped following the acquisition of GBC.
The firm posted net income of $26.2 million, or EPS of $0.48, compared to $27.9 million, or EPS of $0.78, a year earlier.
Sales rose 54 per cent to $513 million. The company reported a 2 per cent decline in net sales when adjusted for the GBC merger.
CEO David Campbell said the company saw reduced earnings in its US OP Group throughout the year "primarily because of higher raw material costs and double-digit increases in distribution and freight costs".
