ACCO and Dexas sue Tung Yung

26 September 2007 — Lincolnshire (IL): ACCO Brands and Dexas International are suing Chinese OP manufacturer Tung Yung International over claims of intellectual property theft.

Texas-based Dexas claims that Tung Yung’s Slender Storage Clipboard and Storage Clipboard with Calculator products, which are sold and distributed to Wal-Mart, violate the company’s own patent rights related to its Clipcase product.

Dexas has filed its case with the courts in the Tyler Division of Eastern District of Texas and is seeking to be awarded a proportion of the defendant’s total profits plus costs.

ACCO Brands has filed a similar suit regarding patent infringement with the Illinois Northern District Court.

The companies named have declined to comment on the legal proceedings at this time.
