3M has reported a Q4 profit rise of 6 per cent as its industrial and electronics businesses helped increase sales.
Earnings for the quarter rose to $761 million, or EPS of $0.99, from $720 million, or EPS of $0.91, a year earlier. The results were affected by an accounting change for retirement obligations related to certain assets.
Excluding that charge, the firm earned $796 million, or EPS of $1.04, in Q4.
3M said it expects Q1 EPS of $1.10 to $1.14.
