German dealer group and wholesaler Soennecken has published its 2022 sustainability report, providing details on its environmental, social and governance practices.
The publication delivered insights into Soennecken’s projects covering ecology, social affairs and economy. In a statement, the company said it had been “committed to environmental protection, fair working conditions and the future viability of the cooperative and its members”.
Highlights in the 2022 report include:
- The in-house brand Oeco has been expanded and now includes around 150 items
- Soennecken joined BAUM, the Europewide network for sustainable management
- 40,272 parcels were delivered in the city of Cologne by cargo bike, saving 5.5 tonnes (6.1 tons) of cardboard and 18.5 tonnes of CO2
- 433 trees were planted in partnership with PLANT-MY-TREE
The past year was also economically successful, according to the dealer group. However, OPI reported in May that Soennecken had seen worsening trends in the local office products market and a “significant slowdown” beginning in March.
