Leading Australian independent dealer COS has developed a Plastic Pollution Toolkit to help customers reduce and even eliminate the use of plastics in their businesses.
According to the reseller, more than 3.4 million tonnes of plastic are discarded into landfill each year in Australia – and approximately 30% of the waste comes from single-use plastics.
However, regional authorities are taking action. New South Wales banned several single-use plastic items in early October 2022, following in the footsteps of Western Australia and South Australia. The Victorian government also banned a variety of single-use plastic and polystyrene items last month.
To help its clients get to grips with tackling the plastic waste issue, COS has developed a 13-page toolkit document that comes with the tagline, Refuse, Reduce & Recycle. Contents include advice on changing office culture, conducting a green audit, sourcing responsibly and recycling.
