Background information
2021: Celebrating its 85th year of business this year, Storey Kenworthy is Iowa’s largest family-owned office supplies and furnishings firm.
Co-founded in 1936 by the grandfather of current President John Kenworthy, the company has enjoyed growth, both organically and through acquisitions. As a result, Storey Kenworthy is one of the biggest independent dealers in the US, with sales of $50 million, more than 150 staff and five showrooms.
The most recent acquisition of fellow dealer Rite Price Office Supply in 2019 took the total Storey Kenworthy locations in Iowa to 12, while the company is using the COVID disruption to leverage additional acquisition opportunities.
The tagline ‘We make a difference’ was revealed in a complete brand refresh at the beginning of 2021 after a two-year transformational and cultural journey. It included an updated website, branding and logo, which John Kenworthy says is the “final step in aligning our culture, vision and values with our brand identity that is modernised for our next chapter in our company growth journey”.
With a mission to ‘meet its customer’s unique needs, provide an engaging work culture and create value in the community it serves’, Kenworthy adds his aim is to always “figure out how to do things better and different, and to continue to learn and grow”.
