2019: Grant Sheridan is General Manager of New Zealand dealer group Office Products Depot (OPD), a position he has held since 2015.

2019 was the group’s 25th anniversary, a milestone celebrated in September at the Office Products Depot National Conference in Melbourne, Australia.

The business comprises a network of independently-owned and locally-operated supply stores and is the country’s largest owner-operated B2B office products supplier, offering a range of stationery, general OP, furniture, packaging, breakroom and cleaning supplies.

It also handles imaging supplies and business machines, together with education and art products targeted at New Zealand schools.

2018: Grant Sheridan is General Manager of New Zealand dealer group Office Products Depot (OPD), the country’s largest owner-operated B2B office products supplier, comprising a network of independently owned and locally operated supply stores.

ODP also forms part of the Office Products Australia New Zealand (OPANZ) alliance which until recently included Australian dealer groups Office Choice and Office Brands. However, in February Office Choice decided to part ways with the alliance, casting some doubt on its future that is now just made up of the two entities. That said, both Sheridan and Office Brands CEO Gavin Ward said they remained committed to OPANZ.

The group is now the country’s largest owner-operated B2B office products supplier, comprising a network of independently owned and locally operated supply stores. In September 2017, it held a combined expo in Cairns alongside fellow dealer group Office Brands, where the two presented their respective Supplier of the Year awards.

OPD partnered with Office Brands in December 2016, building on a long-standing association. The alliance allowed the two to share technology and eventually marketing and other functions for members.

2016: Grant Sheridan took over at New Zealand dealer group Office Products Depot (OPD) in October 2015 following the departure of former General Manager Wendy McPhail and a period under the interim leadership of Doug Borne.

Sheridan has experience of independent resellers, having previously been in charge of electrical appliance retailer group Appnet.

He joins OPD as the group begins life in the new OPANZ purchasing organisation with Australian peers Office Brands and Office Choice. He will also be keeping a close eye on the Staples/Office Depot situation and the ramifications this could have for the local market where Depot-owned OfficeMax is the leading player in the contract sector.
