Captain Charles Moore remembers the day well and what he saw has been seared so firmly onto his retinas that he has spent the last decade trying to tell the world about it. On that day, Captain Moore and his crew were enjoying fine weather while their catamaran, the Alguita, skated across an azure flat stretch of the Pacific Ocean. They had just completed the Transpec boat race and were returning home through a patch of the ocean away from the main shipping routes and one that was typically avoided by sail-bound mariners....
