Product Description

Dexwet Filters Reduce Fine Dust Emissions from Today’s Most Popular Laser Printers, Copiers, Fax Machines and MFPs

What is Fine Dust?

Fine dust can be defined as airborne particles or droplets of solid or liquid materials that are smaller than 10 micrometers.

Health impact

Medical studies suggest that fine and ultra fine dust particles may have a negative impact on one's health, even when these do not contain any harmful chemical ingredients. Health hazards that are alleged to possibly be linked to fine dust emissions include headaches, skin and eye irritations, allergic reactions, bronchitis, asthma, cardiovascular diseases and pulmonary fibrosis.

Independent surveys

Independent surveys have indicated that office equipment based on laser technology can emit fine dust particles:

• EPEA Environmental Protection and Encouragement Agency (associated to EPA), Germany

• Queensland University of Technology, Australia

Technology

Dexwet filters utilize fine-fibre fabric rods and plastic sticks, impregnated with a fluid specifically adapted to capture and bind these fine and ultra fine particles. In addition, bacteria and germs that are bound by the filter’s fluid will die due to lack of oxygen.

Filter efficiency

Provides filtering efficiency of up to 92% of fine particles smaller than approximately 10 micrometers

• Significantly reduces emissions of ultra fine particles between 0.01 and 0.47 micrometers

Filter performance tested by:

• LGA Nürnberg, Germany (now LGA-TÜV Rheinland)

• BAM – Federal Agency for Materials Research and Test, Germany

• EPEA Environmental Protection and Encouragement Agency (associated to EPA), Germany

• B.A.U.M. e.V. - German Environmental Management Association
